Alex Apostolou brought a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and compassion to the practice of law. As the founder of what is now Apostolou Cooper Attorneys at Law, Alex built a firm rooted in integrity, service, and a genuine commitment to helping others.
Before becoming an attorney, Alex successfully owned and operated the Lite Affair Café in Downtown Charleston for nine years. His time in the restaurant business taught him the value of personal service, attention to detail, and care for every client — values that became the foundation of his legal practice.
Alex earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Georgia and his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University in Raleigh, North Carolina. In law school, he was ranked in the Top 5% of his class and received both the Cook Scholarship and the North Carolina Bar Scholarship. Following graduation, Alex served as an Assistant Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Charleston County, where he prosecuted in both General Sessions and Juvenile Courts.
In 2005, Alex founded Apostolou Law Firm, dedicating his practice to criminal defense and personal injury litigation. He defended clients across South Carolina in cases involving criminal charges such as murder, armed robbery, DUI, and domestic violence, as well as personal injury cases including automobile accidents, workplace injuries, and wrongful death claims. Throughout his career, Alex successfully recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his injured clients.
Outside the courtroom, Alex was known for his warmth, humor, and adventurous spirit. He lived in Greece and traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia — even spending six months journeying from Egypt to Zimbabwe. He lived in Mt. Pleasant with his wife and two children, who continue to honor his memory and the legacy he created.
Alex will always be remembered as a remarkable attorney, a devoted husband and father, and a friend to many. His vision, leadership, and compassion continue to guide the team at Apostolou Cooper Attorneys at Law.
